A Message from the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio: As
someone who lives and works in our community, I know you understand the
difficulties families are facing in putting food on the table.
Families are making difficult choices between food, rent, utilities or
even medicine on a daily basis. Choices no family should have to
make. The need for emergency food assistance in our region continues
to rise with an estimated 77,200* people seeking assistance each year
through Second Harvest’s network of food pantries and hot meal programs.Throughout
the month of March, we are inviting schools, local businesses, non
profits, supermarkets, municipalities and the local media to partner
with us for Harvest For Hunger, to help families at risk of hunger.
The food and funds raised through Harvest For Hunger help restock local food pantries and hot meal programs who are helping our community. What can you do to help?
You can be a part of this community-wide drive. Buttons, posters and
other support materials are available to help make your campaign a
success. To join their community wide drive, sign up and order campaign materials on their web site at secondharvestfoodbank.org. For questions please contact Becky Wendt at 440.960.2265, x-229 or bwendt@secondharvestfoodbank.org
